The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between June 30 and July 6, 2026.
Incidents
Swatting Call – Information Report
Deputies responded on June 29 to a reported incident involving a person allegedly attempting to harm themselves and others. After checking the residence, deputies determined the call was a false “swatting” incident. The homeowner, who was the only occupant, told deputies everything was fine.
Natural Death Investigation
A natural death was reported on June 30. Coral Springs Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the individual deceased. The Medical Examiner was notified, and a funeral home removed the body.
Landscaping Crew Damages Fence
A homeowner reported on June 30 that a landscaping contractor’s employees damaged a metal fence while performing work and left without notifying the homeowner. Surveillance video of the incident was available.
Juveniles Reported at Vacant Home
A resident reported on July 1 seeing five or six juveniles walk behind an abandoned home before quickly leaving the property. Deputies checked the residence and found no signs that anyone had entered.
Dispute Over $4,500 Light Fixture
A company owner reported a civil dispute after staging a home for sale. Following the property’s sale, the new owner allegedly refused to allow the company to remove a light fixture valued at approximately $4,500 that had been installed during the staging process.
Designer Ring Reported Stolen During Home Project
A homeowner reported that a designer ring disappeared after two contractors completed work inside the residence. The missing ring was valued at more than $6,000.
Threat Report Received
A Fortify Tip reporting a possible threat was received on July 4. Deputies documented the incident.
Identity Theft Leads to Fraudulent Appliance Purchase
A victim reported that someone used their personal information to fraudulently purchase a refrigerator through Lowe’s. The appliance was mistakenly delivered to the victim’s home, but the delivery was refused after the victim canceled the order.
