Parkland Crime: Hacked Snapchat Account Reports Family Abuse

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through July 31, 2023.

Suspicious Incident

A Suspicious Incident on NW 127 Terrace was reported on 07/25/2023. An unknown female asked a 12-year-old  if he could accompany her to a home to play with her eight-year-old daughter. The son did not comment and rode away on his bicycle.


Information on Pacifica Way was reported on 07/27/2023. A suspicious email was received via Twitter alleging that the mother of the home had taken all the occupants’ phones and identity documents and was abusing the father. All occupants were in good health and had possession of their cell phones. The family advised one of the children’s Snapchat accounts was recently hacked.

Information on Town Parc Circle S was reported on 07/30/2023. The reporter stated that a resident became irate after the gate arm damaged his vehicle. The resident approached the gatehouse, cursing at the reporter. The reporter also stated that the resident pulled off the broken gate arm and threw it at the gatehouse.

Burglary Residence

A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 07/28/2023. The suspect(s) attempted to enter a residence by breaking a rear glass window. The suspect did not make entry, and the homeowners did not see the suspect but heard the glass break. The suspect was gone upon the arrival of deputies.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft was reported on 07/29/2023. The key fob was left in the vehicle.

Fraud – All Other

A victim of Fraud – All Other was reported on 07/30/2023. The total estimated loss was $6,100.
