Samara Osouna {Courteay}
Marjory Stoneman Douglas track and field features a terrific team, and Samara Osouna recently signed to compete at South Carolina State.
“To my family, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and being my biggest supporters,” Osouna said. “To all my coaches, thank you for shaping me into the athlete I am today, never letting me settle, and always seeing the potential in me.”
Osouna had a terrific year with the Eagles, finishing it off with a trip to the State Championship in the 4 x 100 relay. That team previously won the district championship and came in third in regionals. Osouna also ran individually in the 100 and 200 meters, finishing 10th at the District and qualifying for Regionals.
Her fastest time in the 100 meters this year was 12.44, and she also ran a season-best 25.87 in the 200 meters at the Calvary Christian FTL Last Chance Meet.
