The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team had a unique experience taking the field early before the Super Bowl in Miami.
The players were fill-ins for the teams and did pregame intros, ran plays, and stood in for the ‘Greatest 100 Players’ ceremony.
“It was a great experience,” said Head Coach Quentin Short. “The kids had a blast. They got to meet some players and coaches. It was really cool.”
MSD has received plenty of support from South Florida teams like the Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, and Florida Panthers, helping the healing process in the aftermath of the school shooting in Parkland on February 14, 2018.
The Eagles had a terrific season this past fall, winning their first District Championship in 18 years.
