Marjory Stoneman Douglas JROTC blood drive. {MSD JROTC}
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s JROTC program will host a community blood drive with OneBlood on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 1:10 p.m.
Donors should check in at the school’s main office. Staff will then escort them to blood donation buses in the senior parking lot. After donating, participants will receive snacks, pizza and a Halloween-themed blood donor shirt.
Donors must be at least 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. Those who are 16 must complete the blood drive’s consent form below.
Alexandra Londono, the program’s public affairs officer, said a member of the JROTC program survived because of a blood transfusion. She encouraged residents to donate to help patients who need blood during surgery or treatment for cancer, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries.
