Make Our Schools Safe will bring high school students and younger children together for a free afternoon of reading, crafts, and mentorship on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Parkland Library.
“Safety Starts With Me: Book Buddies” runs from 3 to 6 p.m. during America’s Safe Schools Week. The event aims to help children learn how small actions can make schools safer.
MOSS Club student leaders will lead story time featuring “The Safety Squad: Make Our Schools Safe.” Children can choose a “Safety Superpower,” decorate a free superhero cape and create a bookmark. Each child will receive a free copy of the book to take home.
The afternoon also includes a K-9 meet-and-greet, snacks and activities.
Space is limited. Register using this online form.
