Marjory Stoneman Douglas Girls Soccer Team Wins District Championship. {MSD Soccer}
For the eighth straight year, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls’ soccer team was crowned District Champions after a 1–0 overtime victory against Spanish River Community High School.
The Eagles entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season with a 6–6–2 record. Despite the uneven regular season, MSD found its stride in the postseason. The Eagles received a bye in the opening round and then dominated Coral Glades 7–0 to advance to the District Final.
The championship match remained scoreless through regulation, sending the game into overtime. Emily Rodriguez delivered the decisive moment, scoring the game-winning goal to secure the district title for MSD. With the victory, the Eagles will now await their regional seeding and look to make another deep postseason run. MSD hopes to return to the State Championship after an impressive run last season.
