The 15th annual Not My Daughter… Find a Cure Now! (NMD) luncheon and boutique drew over 500 guests on October 28 at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center. The event raised essential funds for the patient support services at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The theme, “When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Pink Lemonade,” emphasized resilience. Dance Theatre opened the program, followed by founder Denyse Hostig’s remarks, in which she shared her journey and the organization’s impact over the past 15 years.
“It’s incredible to see how our community effort has grown, with more people joining us each year,” Hostig said. “Watching our community come together is both humbling and inspiring as we work toward a future where no one faces breast cancer alone.”
NBC6 South Florida Anchor and breast cancer survivor Johanna Torres emceed, sharing her story before the event’s highlight—a fashion show sponsored by Lululemon featuring breast cancer survivors as models. Also, a lucky raffle winner and their tablemates were welcomed to a Bloomingdale’s-sponsored area and received $600 in gifts.
A new addition this year, the University of Miami’s Roundtable featured three physicians sharing recent advancements in breast cancer treatment and care.
“The fashion show was a tribute to the resilience and heroism of women who embody the spirit of Not My Daughter… Find a Cure Now!” said Hostig.
