Parkland travel soccer team was in action in the Weston Cup, with five teams recording championships on February 17-19.
The 2013 Girls Elite, 2013 Boys Premier, 2009 Girls Elite, 2007 Boys ECNLR, and 2005-06 Boys ECNLR all won, while the 2012 Girls Elite, 2009 Boys ECNL, and 2008 Boys ECNLR all reached the finals. Director of Coaching Luis Valentine says they are extremely proud of all the teams that competed and overcame the obstacles with the weather and field conditions.
“We are also very optimistic about the growth and progress we’ve had with the girls program,” Valentine said. “While we still have plenty of work to do, we know that we are setting the bases for girls in our community to have an opportunity to grow and learn using the game of soccer.”
