Parkland Dash {City of Parkland}
By Ryan Yousefi
Attention all runners: the clock is ticking to grab a reduced registration rate for an upcoming fundraising race.
The City of Parkland’s 5K Parkland Dash returns on Sunday, October 8, at Pine Trails Park at 10555 Trails End.
This year’s run offers something for everyone, with participants welcomed to choose from three different race categories: a 5K run (equivalent to 3.1 miles), a 5-mile run, or a 1-mile walk/run. Interested runners are encouraged to select a category that they consider a comfortable run.
Parkland Dash serves as a fundraiser for SOS Children’s Villages – Florida, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safety, security, and support to children who have experienced abuse or neglect in South Florida.
SOS Children’s Villages offers critical assistance to help children cope with their emotions, overcome academic challenges, and develop essential social skills and behaviors.
Registration fees for the 5K Run and a 5 Mile Run are $30 until October 7 and $40 the day of the run. The 1-mile dash costs $15 before the event and $20 at the door.
Race registration fees directly support the mission of SOS Children’s Villages – Florida. Click here to access the early registration page.
In addition to supporting a meaningful cause, Parkland Dash runners will receive a free t-shirt and a finisher medal upon completing their chosen run.
For those with a competitive spirit, there will be awards for the top three male and female overall finishers in both the 5K and 5-mile races.
The Parkland Dash is still searching for additional sponsors. Those interested in sponsorship may fill out the sponsor application and send it to Nathaly Espinosa at NEspinosa@cityofparkland.org.
