Residents and families at Allegro Senior Living in Parkland came together on February 27 for a heartfelt event designed to foster connection and preserve cherished memories.
Allegro’s “Forever Hug” encouraged participants to create a lasting keepsake symbolizing the warmth of a hug.
The event invited residents, their loved ones, and prospective community members to share an embrace and imprint it onto a sweatshirt using paint. The result was a unique, tangible memento that could be gifted to family members or kept as a personal reminder of shared affection.
Organizers emphasized the importance of fostering connections, providing a space for families to come together and build deeper relationships.
“We understood that every resident had unique preferences and comfort levels. That’s why we ensured ample materials and a welcoming environment, allowing anyone who wished to participate the opportunity to do so without any issue,” said Emma Frey in a statement to Parkland Talk.
By transforming the gesture into a keepsake, organizers hoped to help participants hold onto that warmth and connection for years to come.
