Broward County Public Schools is checking in this week with families and members of the school district about the transition to the virtual classroom and COVID-19.
Beginning May 4 through May 14, students, parents, and staff will be able to provide feedback through an anonymous online survey entitled “Distance Learning and Wellness Survey.” The survey targets three categories of participants, including students in grades 6-12, parents of students in grades pre-K-12, and BCPS instructional and student support staff and administrators.
“We know the implementation of distance learning was a sudden change for Broward County Public Schools families, and we want to ensure we’re doing all we can to help,” BCPS Superintendent Robert Runcie said in a press release. “We want to hear from our students, parents, and staff about what they think works well and where they have had challenges.”
Runcie further shared that the survey results may inform how BCPS continues to address challenges related to the abrupt school closures. “The responses will help us identify areas where additional support may be needed and where we need to allocate resources.”
The survey will be available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Haitian-Creole. For more information, please contact the School Counseling and BRACE Advisement Department at 754-321-1675.
