The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School football team is gearing up for a new season and has officially welcomed coach Ken Eliacin to the program.
Eliacin will serve as a co-head coach alongside Chris Baldwin, who has led the Eagles for the past two seasons. In addition to coaching, Eliacin also works as a personal trainer and nutrition specialist. He has already been active with the team throughout the spring and recently helped organize the program’s annual spring football game, which was held as an intersquad matchup.
The event featured a pair of 7-on-7 sessions before a 30-minute scrimmage between the Red and Black teams. MSD is coming off a four-win season, with victories against Cooper City High School, Boyd H. Anderson High School, and Coral Springs High School.
The Eagles will open the regular season at home against Cooper City High School on Aug. 27 before traveling to face Coral Springs High School the following week.
They will then hit the road for games against Nova High School and Cypress Bay High School. Following a matchup with South Plantation High School, MSD is also scheduled to face South Broward High School, Fort Lauderdale Forest Hill, J. P. Taravella, and Coral Glades.
