Parkland native Jack Rostock has announced his commitment to the University of Alabama after recently reopening his recruitment.
Rostock had been committed to NC State since July and had signed with the program, but he ultimately decided to change course following a coaching staff transition.
“The thing that stood out the most was how quickly I made a connection with the coaches,” Rostock said. “It’s truly an honor to be able to call Tuscaloosa home, and I can’t wait to get there in front of such an amazing fan base.”
Rostock began his baseball journey with i9 Sports before moving on to Parkland Little League and later competing for the Parkland Pokers travel program. This past summer, he played for the Original Florida Pokers under coach Todd Fitz-Gerald.
The right-hander closes out an impressive high school career with a 16-4 record, tying a school record for victories alongside Mateo Gray. After posting seven wins and a 1.86 ERA as a junior, Rostock added nine victories during his senior season while recording a 2.23 ERA.
Over 115 career innings pitched, he totaled 140 strikeouts and was recently named the District 3A-12 Pitcher of the Year.
Rostock is eligible for this year’s MLB Draft. However, if he chooses the college route, he will join an Alabama program that advanced to the College World Series this season.
