Deputies say a woman struck her boyfriend with a frozen smoothie and later injured a baby during a chaotic domestic dispute in Parkland.
According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Liliana Caridad Suarez, 30, of Pompano Beach, was taken into custody on May 11 and faces charges including aggravated battery causing bodily harm, domestic battery, and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a child.
Deputies responded to a home in Parkland regarding a reported domestic incident, and upon arrival, the victim told investigators he had been running errands to gather rent money from banks before stopping at Chili’s for food. When he returned home, he found two televisions and other household items damaged following an argument with Suarez, according to the affidavit.
Investigators said Suarez became upset that he had stopped for food, allegedly removed a frozen smoothie from the freezer, and threw it at him. The report states the frozen drink struck the man on the right side of his head, causing a lump.
The victim also told deputies that Suarez began throwing his belongings, including his phone, over a balcony. According to the report, Suarez later went downstairs with a baby in her arms to retrieve the phone and dove onto it, causing the child to strike its head on the ground.
Deputies said the victim additionally reported a separate altercation the previous day during which Suarez allegedly spat in his face and repeatedly struck him. He told investigators that part of the incident was captured on video on his cellphone.
Suarez was transported to the Broward County Main Jail and later released after posting a $4,000 bond.
