The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls’ basketball team won a District Championship on Friday night.
The Eagles opened postseason play with a 52–20 win over Santaluces High School after earning the top seed in the district tournament. Eversekai Benjamin led all scorers with 18 points, while Maddie Feldman added 12, including four three-pointers. Izzie Feldman and Hannah Hu combined for 16 points in the victory.
MSD followed that performance by knocking off Park Vista Community High School 53–48 in the district championship game. Izzie Feldman led the way with 14 points, while Benjamin and Maddie Feldman each finished with nine. Hannah Hu and Joni Van Eck added eight points apiece. With the win, the Eagles improved to 14–5 on the season and will await their regional opponent later this month.
