Marjory Stoneman High’s female Raider team and West Broward High’s mixed Raider team won first place in their respective categories in the state competition on Dec. 2.

Held at Hudson High School in Hudson, Florida, the competition was fierce, with more than 70 teams from across the state participating. However, MSD and West Broward stood out for their exceptional performance.

Everglades High School’s male Raider team clinched the third spot overall, while their female team secured fourth place. Cypress Bay High School’s Raider team also performed commendably in the championships.

Lieutenant Colonel (RET) Kenneth Green, the BCPS JROTC coordinator, expressed immense pride in the teams’ achievements.

“This impressive showing by our JROTC teams highlights the strength and depth of the program,” said Green. “Throughout the long season, these students displayed unwavering dedication, pushing their physical and mental limits to achieve their goals.”

West Broward High School JROTC {BCPS}

The state championship featured demanding events designed to evaluate the teams’ physical fitness, leadership skills, and teamwork. These events included a 3.1-mile Team Run, a rigorous Fitness Test, a 1-mile Cross Country Rescue, a challenging Fitness Challenge, and a Rope Bridge event.
