Broward County Public Schools is celebrating 44 high school seniors named National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists for 2026, including nine exceptional students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
The prestigious designation recognizes students who earned top scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), placing them among the highest-performing high school seniors in the nation.
Representing Marjory Stoneman Douglas are Sophia G. Alvarez, Nidhi M. Bharambe, Joshua W. Brown, Austin J. Campos, Kevin Liu, Kaavya Ramchandran, Alyssa L. Rapps, Sarah E. Rosaler, and Ava E. Thomas.
These students will now have the opportunity to advance to the finalist level and compete for one of nearly 7,000 National Merit Scholarships to be awarded next spring. Collectively, the scholarships total approximately $26 million and recognize academic excellence, leadership, and potential for future success.
