The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls’ golf team won a District Title on Monday while also recognizing their lone senior.
The Eagles placed 17 shots ahead of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, with Sutton Oosterhuis shooting a 71 and placing third. Alcala-Marks came in seventh, while Andiara Raton was one shot back and finished eighth, along with Ella Thompson, placing 11th.
“Course conditions were tough today, but the girls came out strong and put together a good front 9 with solid contributions from all four players,” Head Coach Jonathan Smith said. “It was a true team effort, and now we get ready for regionals next week.”
Next, MSD will compete at Regionals on Monday, November 3, at Osprey Point, looking to cement their spot in the State Championship.
The boys’ team will be sending one to Regionals, placing third at Districts with a 75. Matthew Freedland and Jack Finnegan each competed, as Lieberman will now play at the Regional Championship on Monday, November 3, at Miccosukee Golf and Country Club.
