
Ella Maurice {BCPS}
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior Ella Maurice has been named a National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winner, joining an elite group of students across the country recognized for their exceptional academic achievement and potential for future success.
Maurice is among eight Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) students honored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) as part of the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. The awards recognize top-performing high school seniors based on their academic record, PSAT/NMSQT scores, leadership, and community involvement.
The additional BCPS recipients include:
- Andrea Barboza, Cypress Bay High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
- Thomas Clarke, Pompano Beach High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
- Abdul Indorewala, Flanagan High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
- Adam Langshaw, Cypress Bay High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
- Hansita Penikalapati, Cypress Bay High School, National Merit Corporate-sponsored Scholarship
- Janelle Prager, Hollywood Hills High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
- Gregory Roudenko, Cypress Bay High School, National Merit $2,500 Scholarship
These students were selected from a nationwide pool of high-achieving finalists who advanced through a competitive selection process, including high PSAT/NMSQT scores, strong academic performance, an application, and a personal essay.
Scholarship recipients can use the awards at any regionally accredited college or university in the U.S. Winners of the College-sponsored Merit Scholarships will be announced in June and July.
