Residential Fire Rescue
On May 6, deputies responded to a residential fire after a caller, who is disabled, reported a stove fire. Fire rescue forced entry and rescued a 96-year-old woman. Investigators determined a lithium battery in a laptop near the stove caused the fire.
Man Threatened Over Speeding Dispute
On May 3, a man told deputies he approached a neighbor to complain about speeding when the neighbor allegedly brandished a pistol and warned him not to come closer. The firearm was not pointed, and deputies were unable to locate the subject.
Altercation at Park Over Prank
A juvenile reported that an adult male threatened to break his phone following a prank involving the adult’s nephew at a local park.
Political Sticker Placed on Vehicle
A man reported someone placed a “Free Palestine” sticker on his VW Jetta between 5–8 p.m. on May 6. The sticker caused no damage and was removed. Photos were taken.
Vehicle Vandalism Reported
Between 12:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on May 6, a resident’s vehicle was scratched on both sides, and a sharp metal object was found in the deflated rear tire.
Juvenile Information Report
A juvenile male was the subject of an information report filed on May 7. No further details were provided.
Process Server Concern
On May 7, a woman contacted deputies about a process server who had visited her home the previous month. No criminal activity was found.
Comcast Digging Dispute
On May 8, a resident expressed frustration over a Comcast subcontractor digging in her yard. Deputies took a report.
Fire Alarm at Heron Heights Elementary
A fire alarm activated at Heron Heights Elementary on May 8. Coral Springs Fire Department cleared the buildings, and normal operations resumed.
Delivery Driver Alarms Babysitter
A 12-year-old babysitter reported that an Amazon delivery driver lingered outside the home and asked to use the restroom. Deputies documented the report.
Gate Arm Damages Fire Rescue Vehicle
A community gate arm closed on a Coral Springs Fire Rescue vehicle responding to a medical call on May 9.
Phone Impersonation Scam
A woman reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be a detective investigating a crime. The caller provided false identification.
Travel Scam
A resident told deputies they paid a private travel agent for a trip that never occurred and received only a partial refund.
Death Investigation
Deputies responded to a cardiac arrest call on May 12. A man was found deceased in bed. The Medical Examiner determined the death was natural.
Hail Damage to Law Enforcement Vehicle
A BSO unit sustained hail damage on May 5 while parked at a private residence.
Arrests
Theodore, Shela (B/F, 29) – Arrested May 7 on a felony charge of child neglect without great bodily harm.
