On February 14, 2018, Jaime Guttenberg and 16 other victims at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School were tragically murdered by a troubled former student.
She was only 14 years old.
Following the tragedy, Jaime’s parents, Fred and Jennifer Guttenberg formed Orange Ribbons For Jaime (ORFJ), a nonprofit organization honoring her by supporting important causes.
Because one of Jaime’s greatest passions was dance, ORFJ created a nationwide Dance-A-Thon to raise money that funds a college scholarship created in her name and a new initiative to help support families affected by gun violence.
“Orange Ribbons For Jaime has been fortunate to have a variety of wonderful and generous people who continue to use their platform and help share our mission,” said Jennifer Guttenberg, co-founder of Orange Ribbons For Jaime, who added that she and her husband Fred are grateful to have the support of Marinda Davis, Mark Hamill, Ben Jackson, Brandon Jenner, Jessica Kirson, Jeanine Mason, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Alyssa Milano, Tiler Peck, Ben Stiller, Tara Strong, Bradley Whitford, Chiara Gonzalez, and more.
The 2021 Dance-A-Thon kicks off with in-person dance parties at locations across the country from October 1, 2021 – October 23, 2021, and a Virtual Dance Party on October 23 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
All registered participants — regardless of where they will be participating —have access to the Virtual Dance Party. There will be prize incentives for the biggest fundraiser, who will receive 4 Billy Joel tickets and a $1,000 gift card. Register at Dance-A-Thon.
