The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between February 24 and March 2, 2026.
Incidents
• Retail Theft: A CVS store at 7621 N. State Road 7 reported that three female suspects stole $215 worth of cosmetics on Feb. 24 between 6:50 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. The suspects left the property in an unknown vehicle. Estimated loss: $215.
• Lost Property: A Parkland resident reported losing a credit card pouch containing several cards on Feb. 19 around 5:30 p.m.
• Package Theft: A juvenile suspect reportedly stole a package from the front entry area of a townhome on Feb. 25 between 6:43 p.m. and 7:02 p.m. The package was valued at $10. The investigation is ongoing. Estimated loss: $10.
• Civil Dispute: A resident reported purchasing a television for $4,038 from another individual but never received the item. The seller refunded $1,000 after being informed that a civil case would be filed. The matter is scheduled for civil court on March 17.
• Domestic Disturbance: Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between parents and their adult son on Feb. 23 around 7:30 p.m. No crime occurred, and no injuries were reported.
• Domestic Disturbance: Deputies responded Feb. 26 to a verbal dispute between a parent and a juvenile who refused to attend school. The juvenile ultimately complied and went to school. No crime occurred.
• Threat Assessment: A threat assessment report involving an adult male was documented Feb. 26. No additional details were provided.
• Battery (Domestic): A juvenile punched his father in the stomach during an incident on Feb. 27 around 3 a.m. No injuries were reported.
• Information Report: A driver reported another motorist blocking her from passing on Feb. 27, around 4:30 p.m. No threats or physical contact occurred.
• Fraud Attempt: A resident selling a bicycle on Facebook Marketplace reported that a suspect attempted a Zelle payment scam on Feb. 27, around 7 p.m. The victim did not send any money and suffered no loss.
• Burglary to Vehicle: A vehicle burglary occurred Feb. 28 around 2:48 a.m. Items stolen included a Mercedes center hub wheel removal tool and a black briefcase with the initials “JSB.” Estimated loss: $300.
• Disturbance: Deputies responded to a dispute between a resident and juveniles riding electric bicycles on Feb. 28. The parties gave conflicting accounts, and no criminal offense was determined.
• Missing Person: Deputies responded on March 1 regarding a missing adult woman who had last been seen the previous evening. Family members were able to reach her by phone, but she refused to disclose her location. Deputies attempted to locate her using a phone ping without success.
• Theft: A victim reported that an unknown suspect opened an envelope and stole a silver bar valued at $450. The exact location of the theft is unknown. Estimated loss: $450.
Arrests
• Tayane Moreira Oliveira, 37, was arrested on Feb. 28 and charged with touch or strike/battery (dating violence).
• Juan Carlos Hernandez, 43, was arrested on March 1 and charged with touch or strike/battery (domestic violence).
