Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through March 1, 2021.
Assault
7700 block of NW 125th Ln – Heron Bay
On February 25, the complainant advised while walking his dog, he was verbally assaulted and had dog feces thrown at him by a person in the community. The suspect’s identity is unknown at this time. The complainant advised he wants to prosecute.
Burglary Conveyance
7600 block of NW 70th Way – Cypress Cay
On February 26, a delayed burglary of a 2015 BMW was unlocked and parked in the driveway overnight. Unknown subject removed purse which contained ID and credit cards, no video, area was canvassed.
7400 block of Bristol Ln – Cypress Head
On February 26, the victim advised his truck was entered overnight via an unlocked door, and removed his Beretta PX4 handgun (9mm), value $600, from the vehicle center console. Three latents were obtained. Contact was made with an adjacent neighbor, who will review security footage.
7300 block of Dover Ct – Cypress Head
On February 26, a 2017 Infinity QX70 and a 2017 Nissan Maxima were entered overnight, parked in the driveway. Both unlocked. The victim’s wallet was taken from the center console of the Infinity. The victim’s backpack (checkbook & speaker) was taken from the Nissan. Both processed for latent prints, yielding two from the Infinity. A neighbor may have video (pending).

8400 block of Watercrest Cir Watercrest
On February 28, as Coral Springs/Parkland Fire Rescue Engine 109 was entering Watercrest, the gate arm closed on the truck. The gate arm popped off the lifter, as designed, causing no damage to the truck or the gate.
6650 University Dr – BSO District Office
On February 23, a letter was sent to the BSO Parkland District Office, addressed to Nickolas Jacob Cruz. The letter was sent from a (redacted name) from Tifton, GA. The letter contained two pictures of herself, $30.dollars, and a letter stating her love for Cruz.
10600 NW 66th Dr. Fox Ridge
On February 24, the community guardhouse gate arm accidentally struck a vendor’s truck attempting to access the community. No property damage occurred.No persons injured as a result.
10700 Trails End – Park Trails Elementary
Between February 15-26, the report references a missing playground shade canopy.

5800 block of Holmberg Rd – Bell Parkland
On February 24, the caller’s Honda Pilot was scratched by a subject moving an old stove.
Runaway/Not Endangered
NW 79th Ct – Heron Bay
On February 25, a mother advised her 15-year-old ran away from home earlier that day and hadn’t returned home. The juvenile does not have a cellphone. The juvenile has been entered into Teletype as missing, and a BOLO was sent out. The juvenile later returned home.
