Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other incidents that occurred in Parkland through August 24.
11100 block of NW 71st Ct – Parkland Isles
On August 18, the person reported an unknown person scratched marks on the trunk of her father’s listed vehicle. She is the primary driver of the vehicle. No known suspects.
8900 block of NW 70th Ct – Ranches
Between December 1, 2019, and August 7, 2020, the suspect was a former employee at the victim’s home. They reported that the suspect stole over $1,000 worth of gun ammunition and gave it to a mutual friend. Victim advised that suspect had access to the ammunition but was not authorized to take or give away the ammunition.
5900 block of NW 74th Ter – Pine Tree Estates
On August 21, a foreman with Ronin Development advised of several pieces of construction equipment (generator, compressor, nail guns, saws, hammers, etc) that were taken overnight from a home is being built on the lot. Total loss estimated $9,770. An area canvas revealed a pole camera located at 6183 NW 74th Ter, with the resident reviewing the possible video footage (pending).
9800 block of S MiraLago Way – MiraLago
On August 18, a call was received about a naked white male swimming in a resident’s pool. When he was approached he got out of the pool and ran away. In. an attempt to do a welfare check, a search was conducted however the subject was not located.
5800 block of Holmberg Rd
On August 18, the victim wanted to report that a known person that owes her money, sent her a threatening text message. This did not rise to the level of police involvement, but she still wanted it documented.
7100 block of Nob Hill Rd/Trails End,
On August 19, a verbal disturbance between two subjects was reported following an accident with no injuries.
7500 block of Nw 117th Ln
On August 20, a phone report in reference to a delayed business dispute over money.
6800 block of NW 73rd St – Whittier Oaks
On August 20, the respondent was served with Injunction/Risk Protection Orders at and left the residence without incident.
6600 Loxahatchee Rd
On August 21, a man accidentally dumped a front-end loader into the canal. No injuries.
I6000 block of NW 71st Ter – Pine Tree Estates
On August 23, BSO received a report of a landscaper cutting down trees at the listed address, and after arrival, contact was made with that individual. After speaking with him, he stated work has stopped for the day because he was not able to contact the owner in regards to a work permit.
Mills, Shain (B M, 29) was arrested on charges of fleeing/eluding police – failing to obey a law enforcement officer to stop at the 12200 block of NW 81st St/SW 122nd Ln, Parkland, on 08/22/2020.
