Chabad of Parkland will host its “Many Voices. One Heart.” Gala Dinner on March 18, bringing together community leaders, families and supporters to celebrate the growth and impact of Jewish life across North Broward and South Palm Beach counties.
The event, set for Wednesday evening, will honor three families whose leadership, generosity and commitment have helped strengthen Jewish life locally and support Jewish communities around the world.
Honorees include Tzvi and Simmie Gellman, who will receive the Heart of the Community Award in recognition of their generosity and dedication to community initiatives.
Yudi and Simcha Hercenberg will be presented with the Foundations of Jewish Continuity Award for their commitment to Jewish education and efforts to help ensure a vibrant future for generations to come.
Alan and Patti Masarek will receive the Defender of Israel Award for their leadership and support for Israel, including multiple missions to the country and the dedication of a memorial room at Ramat David Air Force Base in northern Israel.
The gala marks the first major community celebration since the opening of the Chabad of Parkland campus six years ago. Today, Chabad of Parkland serves thousands of families through a variety of educational, cultural, and outreach initiatives. Programs include the Hercenberg Preschool of the Arts, the Mintz Hebrew School — one of the largest Hebrew schools in Florida — and Friendship Circle, which supports children and adults with special needs.
Additional programs include Camp Gan Israel’s day and overnight camps, the Solomon Leadership Program that mentors future Jewish leaders, adult education courses, holiday celebrations and community outreach events.
The evening’s program will feature musical performances, inspirational videos and a memorial tribute honoring community members who helped build the organization and whose legacy continues to guide its mission.
“Our community is made up of many voices,” said Rabbi Shuey Biston, director of Chabad of Parkland. “Each person, each act of kindness and each contribution strengthens the heart of this community. This evening is about celebrating what we have built together and looking ahead to an even brighter future.”
