Parkland’s own Caden Bennett has officially committed to continue his academic and lacrosse career at Hampton University in Virginia.
“It feels really good to commit,” Bennett said. “I feel like I have been waiting on this moment my whole life and was really excited to finally make my decision.”
Bennett felt an immediate connection with Hampton during his visit, making the decision easier for him and his family.
“During my visit to Hampton, they really made me feel comfortable and at home, and me and my family thought it would be the best spot for me,” Bennett said.
Bennett comes from an athletic family, with his father having played eight seasons in the NFL as a fullback. His older brother, Coleman, signed with the Chicago Bears following the 2026 NFL Draft and also spent time with the Miami Dolphins this year.
Bennett began playing lacrosse at age eight, competing for the Parkland Redhawks and Stealth Lacrosse programs. He is currently a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School following a strong sophomore season in which he appeared in 17 games and helped the Raiders finish ranked fourth in Florida and 20th nationally. Bennett also plays on the football team, which ranks as the number one team in the country.
