Check out this next week’s classes and activities at the Parkland Library. During construction of the new wing, the Parkland Library remains open and is holding many upcoming classes for all-ages. The new addition, set to open by the end of the year, will house a dedicated library for children as well as include new space for classes and events.

Peaceful Pieces Jigsaw Puzzle Meetup (adults), Tuesday, March 19, 10:30 a.m.

Step-into-Spring Mural Painting, Tuesday, March 19, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
It’s almost spring! What better way to celebrate than to add your creative mark on a giant paper mural that will be displayed at the library all season long? Tiny Tots Social Time (age 9 months to 4 years), Wednesday, March 20, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.

Reading with the Tail Waggin’ Tutor Finn (K-5th grade), Thursday, March 21, 3:30 p.m.
Come to the Parkland Library to practice your reading skills by reading to therapy dog Finn. This program encourages children to read by providing a non-judgmental listener and furry friend who won’t mind if you make a mistake. Bring a book from home or choose one at the library. Arts, Books and Culture Discussion Group, Monday, March 25, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Similar to a current events group, but focused on entertainment and culture, this lively discussion will cover topics like: What’s on the bestseller list? What’s big at the box office? What’s trending in pop culture? Share your thoughts, listen to others, and get your culture fix as we chat. Registration required. Grady the Great: Kid Magician, (age 5 and up) Wednesday, March 27, 4:30 p.m.
Grady is an 11-year-old magician who has had a love of magic since birth. Every week Grady attends magic school and helps out in a magic shop. He is happy to be the youngest member of the Ft Lauderdale chapter of the Society of American Magicians. Grady enjoys taking part in his magic school shows.
