The Parkland Rangers are working to make tackle football more accessible to local children, recently welcoming several new players through the Jack Brewer Foundation as part of a community outreach effort.
The partnership has provided young athletes who may not otherwise have the resources with an opportunity to join the Rangers and play organized tackle football.
Founded by former NFL player Jack Brewer, the Jack Brewer Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on helping underserved children and communities through sports, education, mentorship and humanitarian programs. The foundation uses athletics as one of its avenues to provide opportunities and resources to young people.
Since the Parkland Rangers Pop Warner tackle football program does not receive city funding, the organization relies on registration fees, fundraising, sponsorships and support from local families and businesses.
As the Rangers look to increase participation, the organization is hoping to develop additional partnerships throughout Parkland to provide financial assistance to families, purchase new uniforms and equipment and make tackle football available to more children.
The Rangers are also looking to reverse a decline in tackle football enrollment and generate more excitement surrounding the program. Through additional sponsorships and local support, the Rangers hope to bring more players onto the field while creating a stronger connection between the organization and the Parkland community.
