Parkland resident and attorney Kaysia Earley was recognized by the City of Parkland with a proclamation on June 3 in observance of Juneteenth, honoring her community service and humanitarian work.
The proclamation recognizes Kaysia for her work as an attorney, legal analyst, author and founder of Seeds of Manna Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides relief supplies and support to communities affected by hardship and natural disasters.
City officials also cited the organization’s rebuilding efforts in Jamaica following a hurricane and Earley’s advocacy for human rights, justice and family support.
Kaysia and her husband, David, have lived in Heron Bay while raising their four children, who attended Park Trails Elementary School, Westglades Middle School and Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
“Parkland has been more than a place to live; it has been a place where our family has grown, served, and built lasting relationships,” Kaysia said. “This recognition is truly an honor because it comes from the community my family proudly calls home.”
According to the proclamation, Juneteenth provides an opportunity to reflect on freedom, equality and the contributions of African Americans throughout history. City leaders said Earley’s volunteerism and community involvement reflect those values.
In addition to leading Seeds of Manna Inc., Earley has worked as a trial attorney, legal analyst, journalist and author. She has also participated in pro bono legal work and educational outreach through speaking engagements at churches, universities, homeless shelters and community organizations.
