Parkland City Hall
The City of Parkland is accepting applications for its Youth Ambassador Program, a yearlong initiative that provides local students with hands-on experience in municipal government and community service.
The program is open to 10th-grade students in Parkland who are interested in public service and civic leadership. Selected students will begin participation during the summer before their 11th-grade year and will work closely with the mayor, city commissioners, and the city manager’s office.
Participants will attend city commission meetings, volunteer at city events, meet with various city departments, and assist with community service projects. Students will also learn about municipal policy, budgeting, leadership development, public speaking, and conflict resolution in government.
The program will consist of five students who must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate involvement in community service initiatives. Applicants are also required to submit a minimum 300-word essay on the importance of local government in the Parkland community, along with recommendation letters from both a school official and a community member.
Students selected for the program will be eligible for a $2,500 scholarship upon successful completion of all program requirements and will receive 10 community service hours per month during their participation.
Applications are due at 4 p.m. on May 28, 2026. For more information, visit The City of Parkland.
