The City of Parkland will host its annual Parkland Day celebration on Saturday, March 7, featuring a full day of community events, a parade, live performances, and family-friendly activities.
The event’s theme, “Stars, Stripes & Sunshine,” commemorates both the city’s 63rd anniversary and the nation’s 250th year of independence with festivities designed to bring residents together for a hometown celebration.
Festivities begin with the Parkland Day Parade at 10 a.m. Participants, including local businesses, community organizations, and neighborhood groups, will march through designated parade routes.
Road closures for the parade will begin at 8 a.m. and continue through noon on several key streets, including Pine Island Road and Trails End, according to event information.
The celebration continues at the Pine Trails Park Amphitheatre from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., where attendees can enjoy games, rides, a food court, a business expo, and live music. Local schools, dance studios, and cultural groups will perform from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by The Wildflowers, a Tom Petty tribute band, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Parkland Day has historical roots dating back to 1967, when early celebrations included local horse shows and community games. Over the decades, the event has evolved into a signature Parkland tradition emphasizing neighborhood pride, civic engagement, and family fun.
