A celebration of the life of a beloved South Florida native, Alan Ross, will be held at the Parkland Golf and Country Club on Thursday, February 23.
Alan, a criminal defense attorney, passionate drummer, skilled golfer, and proud father, passed away in 2018 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. To commemorate his life, his family and friends are hosting the Alan Ross Rocks the Course golf tournament and rock-and-roll cocktail party.
Melissa Sentz, Alan Ross’s daughter, expressed her excitement about the event and how it is a testament to her father’s life and legacy.
“The Alan Ross Rocks the Course charity golf tournament started five years ago when our dad lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Now, my siblings and I put on a tournament with all the things our dad loved: golf, good food, cocktails, and rock ‘n’ roll.”
The charity golf tournament features live music, food, and adult beverages. Participants can enjoy a Bloody Mary bar and lunch before the tee-off at 1:00 p.m.
Golf tournament tickets are sold out, but the tickets for the cocktail party are still available for $175 per person plus an additional fee of $12.29.
The cocktail party begins at 6:00 p.m., and the golfers will have access to locker rooms to change their clothes for dinner if desired.
The event website states that the tournament and cocktail party are open to all Parkland residents and friends of Alan Ross. The beneficiary is a research grant within the American Cancer Society’s South Florida Chapter.
