A Message from State Rep Christine Hunschofsky:
I am pleased to be back home from Tallahassee after completing my first legislative session and my first special session.
June is a beautiful month in South Florida. It’s a great time to celebrate the end of the school year, and I am very excited that we will have in-person high school graduations again!
Congratulations to all of our graduates and their families on this remarkable achievement. Thank you to all of the teachers, administrators, staff, and volunteers for everything you do throughout the school year for our students, whether it was in person or online. I know that this year was a challenge for everyone, but we did it thanks to everyone working together.
Father’s Day is Sunday, June 20. Thank you so much to all the dads out there for all you do for our families and our community.
We are very lucky to have so many dads in our community who are always willing to lend a helping hand. We appreciate you and all you do to make a difference! Father’s Day can also be a difficult day for those who have lost their children or their own fathers. Please be mindful of one another and check in on your friends who may be hurting.
I wish everyone a safe and wonderful summer. This year to celebrate the outdoors, we passed a Sales Tax Holiday that will run from July 1 to July 7, which removes the sales tax from admission to concerts, sporting events, state parks, boating and water activity supplies, camping, and fishing supplies and other sports equipment. More information on what is tax-exempt will be posted online at the Department of Revenue as the sales tax holiday approaches.
I had an opportunity to explore some of Florida’s northern state parks while I was in Tallahassee, and I encourage everyone to discover the natural beauty of Florida on their own.
As always, it is my honor to serve you in the Florida House of Representatives. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time at HDist096@myfloridahouse.gov with your questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you!
