Somerset Parkland Academy invites families and community members to kick off the holiday season with a joyful performance of Elf The Musical JR. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at The Coral Springs Center for the Arts.
Inspired by the beloved New Line Cinema holiday film, Elf The Musical JR. tells the story of Buddy, a young orphan who accidentally finds himself at the North Pole and is raised by Santa’s elves. When Buddy discovers he is actually human, he embarks on a heartwarming journey to New York City to find his family and remind the world that the true spirit of Christmas lies in love, laughter, and believing in yourself.
With a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, music by Matthew Sklar, and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, this musical delivers an evening full of festive energy, family-friendly humor, and holiday cheer.
The show features the talented students of Somerset Parkland Academy under the direction of Mr. Andrew Ramsarran, the school’s theatre director and recipient of the 2025 Jan McArt Director’s Chair Award.
“Our young performers have worked tirelessly to bring the magic of the season to life,” said Mr. Rams. “Elf JR. is more than a musical. It’s a reminder that the holidays are about connection, kindness, and spreading joy wherever we go.”
In the spirit of giving, Somerset Parkland Academy is partnering with Toys for Tots for this special event.
Audience members are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate, helping make the holidays brighter for children in need throughout Broward County.
