State Rep Christine Hunschofsky.
From State Rep Christine Hunschofsky:
I hope summer has gotten off to a wonderful start for everyone. This can be a great time when our schedules change a bit with school being out and many activities and events slowing down.
In Tallahassee, the budget process took longer than originally expected. We were originally scheduled to complete the session by May 2, but the budget process was extended through June, requiring us to finalize the budget and obtain approval by July 1. Throughout the summer, we will provide legislative updates at city commission meetings and events throughout the district. If you do not already receive our email newsletters, please email us at HD095@flhouse.gov to sign up for our updates. We want to make sure you have all the information you need on what is happening in Tallahassee as well as what resources are available in our community.
The DMV is always busy, especially during the summer. Our office has been scheduling Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) events in the district regularly for the past several months to help our constituents renew their driver’s licenses in a timely and convenient manner. At these events, you can renew your license, convert your out-of-state license, and renew your disabled parking placard. Our next FLOW event will be in Coconut Creek on Wednesday, July 23. Please reach out to our office at our NEW office number 954-953-2760 or HD095@flhouse.gov to make an appointment. We are here to help!
If you choose to spend some time closer to home this summer, I recommend exploring some of the wonderful parks we have here in Broward County or even checking out our Florida State parks. Whether you are looking to hike the trails, do some fishing, or kayaking, there is something for everyone to do at our Broward County or Florida State Parks. For more information, visit www.broward.org/parks and www.floridastateparks.org.
Wishing you and your family a safe and happy July 4th! Several celebrations are planned within the district. The City of Margate hosts a parade from 9 am to 11:30 am down Margate Boulevard eastbound from 76th Avenue to State Road 7. Later that day the City of Margate (5 pm-9 pm at the NW corner of 441 and Margate Blvd) and the City of Coral Springs (5 pm-9 pm at Mullins Park, 1000 Ben Geiger Drive, Coral Springs) will be hosting family fun fireworks celebrations. Visit https://www.margatefl.com and https://www.coralsprings.gov/Events-directory/Special-Events/Fourth-of-July-Celebration for more information.
However, you plan to spend your summer I hope you have plenty of time to visit with family and friends. As always, my staff and I are here to help in any way we can. Please feel free to reach out to my office at 954-953-2760 or HD095@flhouse.gov with any questions or concerns you may have. Also, sign up for our informative emails at HD095@flhouse.gov. We keep you updated on upcoming town halls, legislative issues, and local resources available to you. You can follow me on social media at @RepChristineHunschofsky on Facebook, @RepHunschofsky on Twitter, and @chrishunschofsky on Instagram for more timely updates. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your state representative. I look forward to hearing from you!
