It will be an exciting night as Marjory Stoneman Douglas football gets set to take on Coral Glades High School on Thursday.
While it is only the second game and first home game for the Eagles, Thursday’s game honors 22 students for Senior Night.
Those players include Derek Geffrard, Jaydin Fernandez, Matt O’Dowd, Christopher Darius, Matt Martin, Mark Dorsett, Geovanni Vilsaint, Fenthon Aristhomene, A.J. Darring, Blake Ofstein, Jahrel Wilson, Luc Laforge, Ryan Nemeth, Prince Aldeus, Michael McLaughlin, Vitor Schmidt, Demetri Robinson, Ryan Gott, Zach Randerson Arman Borghei, Josh Frais, and Nick Dobbs.
“This year has been so hectic for these guys, so for them to get a senior night and their parents to come out, it is a good thing,” said Head Coach Quentin Short.
Both these teams come in with 1-0 records as MSD defeated Coral Springs High School 14-6 in their opening game, and Coral Glades had their offensive erupt for a 34-13 win over Coral Springs Charter.
For Head Coach Cam Thomas, he knows how important this game is. MSD defeated the Jaguars 52-15 last year for the Eagles’ first District Championship in 18 years.
But this season is different for Coral Glades.
Following this game, MSD will have their lone non-conference game of the season on Friday, Nov 13 at 7 p.m. against Hallandale High School. Coral Glades will face J.P. Taravella in a pivotal conference matchup on Nov 13, at 7 p.m.
Thursday’s sold-out game is on November 5, at 6:30 in Parkland.
