The Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball team is one win away from another District Title title following Monday’s 6-0 win over Coral Glades.
Daniel Tartaglia was nearly perfect, retiring the first 18 hitters. He took a perfect game into the seventh inning and finished the game with 18 strikeouts.
“I felt good, threw strikes, and let my defense work, knowing how good this defense is behind me,” Tartaglia said. “Just hitting the spots I needed to hit, and it all worked out.”
The Eagles scored four runs in the first inning and one more in the fourth and sixth behind a pair of RBIs from Drew Freeman. Jake Rizzo, Nick Diaz, and Erick Torres all drove in runs.
MSD will play third-seeded Western High School on Wednesday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m. The Wildcats beat J.P. Taravella 2-0 during their first playoff game and are 12-13 this season.
