Westglades Middle School Coach Danny Gurr was officially awarded Coach of the Year on May 19.
A former Westglades and Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate. Gurr led the Wolves to four wins in the regular season and then beat Silver Lakes in the first round and then Sunrise Middle School.
Gurr says it is a huge surprise and honor to be recognized among all the great coaches at Westglades.
“It is a true privilege to have the opportunity to coach soccer for this school, and I look forward to many more successful seasons on the sidelines, Gurr said. “Thankful is an understatement.”
