{Walk Off For Cancer}
One of the community’s most uplifting traditions returns with the 14th Annual Walk-Off for Cancer, inviting families, teams, and supporters to come together for a morning of strength, unity, and purpose.
Held in Parkland, the event, set for Sunday, December 7, at 8:30 a.m., offers participants the opportunity to run or walk a 5K while standing in solidarity with families facing childhood cancer. Organizers say the day is designed not just as a fundraiser, but as a celebration of hope and community support.
The event features a full morning experience for participants, including a complimentary breakfast and coffee, ensuring everyone starts the day energized. Each registrant will receive a gift bag, complete with an event T-shirt and a Nike drawstring bag.
Families with young children can enjoy a lively Kid Zone presented by i9 Sports, featuring face painting, balloon artists, inflatables, and other kid-friendly activities.
A highlight for many attendees is the chance to take photos with Anthony Rizzo, whose ongoing advocacy for pediatric cancer patients continues to inspire the event’s mission.
Organizers describe the Walk-Off for Cancer as “a truly special day”—a sentiment echoed by returning participants who attend year after year to honor loved ones, support friends, and help fund programs for families in need.
Whether running, walking, or simply showing up in support, community members are encouraged to participate. Register here. Event opens at 7:30 a.m.
