The Broward County Sheriff’s Office Parkland District is looking for residents interested in becoming part of a community of like-minded individuals committed to keeping their neighborhoods safe.

The BSO Parkland District is accepting applications for residents excited to volunteer in its Parkland Citizen Observer Patrol (COP) program, which enables residents to work alongside law enforcement officers to spot suspicious activity and support special events.

The Parkland COP is a roving neighborhood watch program that serves as the eyes and ears of law enforcement in the community. The program is designed to supplement the work of the Broward Sheriff’s Office by providing an additional layer of protection against criminal activity.

As part of the Parkland COP program, volunteers receive specialized training on identifying suspicious behavior and reporting it to law enforcement authorities.

The program is open to anyone at least 18 who wants to positively impact their community. Participating in the program is free, and all necessary training and equipment will be provided to volunteers.
