Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School alumnus and Miami Marlins pitcher Jesus Luzardo continues to make significant contributions both on and off the field.
Following his postseason debut in 2023, Luzardo is set to host the inaugural Luzardo Family Foundation Charity Golf Classic on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Parkland Golf & Country Club.
The event aims to unite athletes, celebrities, and community leaders to support local charities, including ARC Broward, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, and the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation.
This golf classic also complements Luzardo’s ongoing philanthropic efforts — such as his annual free baseball clinics and active participation in Miami Marlins Foundation events.
Luzardo, a 2016 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School graduate, distinguished himself on the baseball team with 23 career wins.
In his 2023 postseason debut for the Miami Marlins, he pitched four innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out five in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Earlier that year, he represented Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic and achieved a 200-strikeout milestone in his final MLB season start against the New York Mets.
Off the field, Luzardo launched the Luzardo Family Foundation to empower underserved children and help them reach their full potential.
His free baseball clinics at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have become an annual tradition, and the upcoming charity golf tournament represents an expansion of his commitment to community service.
Participants and sponsors are invited to join Luzardo and special guests for a day of golf and philanthropy. For more information and registration details, visit Jesus Luzardo’s official event page.
