Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Parkland through January 26.
Auto Theft
7600 block of Old Thyme Court – Parkland Golf and Country Club
On January 24, deputies responded to the residence in reference to a stolen Lexus. The vehicle was taken overnight from the driveway with the keys inside the vehicle. There was no suspect information at the time.
Burglary Conveyance
7100 block of NW 116 Way – Heron Bay – Bay Cove
On January 22, the victim advised that on January 18, an unknown male subject entered her Mercedes while it was parked in the driveway of her residence. The vehicle was unlocked with the doors and windows closed. Approximately $220 in cash, a women’s sweater, and baby clothes were removed from the interior.
Burglary Residence
6400 block of NW 58 Way – Sable Pass
On January 22, the victim reported between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) broke the glass to a back bedroom door and entered the home. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed purses, a laptop computer, and an iPad.
6800 block of NW 122 Avenue – Heron Bay
On January 24, the complainant stated that a male who had trespassed warned from her residence came to her home and was about to enter her garage when he was seen by the occupants and left.
Criminal Mischief
6624 Parkside Drive – Parkside Town Center
On January 27, the victim advised that while a group of juveniles were hanging out in the parking lot to the closed business, between January 25 and 27, a male damaged the exterior fence.
Information
7667 N State Road 7 – Waterway Shops of Parkland
On January 21, deputies were flagged down in the parking lot in reference to a male subject experiencing an overdose.
5800 block of Holmberg Road – Bell Parkland Apartments
On January 27, deputies responded in reference to a delayed verbal altercation between a maintenance worker and a resident.
Lost Property
6650 University Drive
On January 26, the caller stated he was driving his scooter between October 20 (this date was on the report) and January 26, and his wallet fell out of his pocket onto Holmberg Road. The wallet contained $480 cash, his driver’s license, and social security card. The area was searched, and he was unable to locate it.
10000 block of Bay Leaf Court – Parkland Golf and Country Club
On January 24, the victim advised the key fob for his GMC Yukon was missing/lost after he set it down by the garage the previous day.
Property Damage
6650 North University Drive – parking lot entrance/exit to North University Drive
On January 24, the listed victim reported that she ran into a front end loader bucket/ scoop left in the roadway by Arrow Asphalt on January 23. The victim’s Toyota Prius had front-end bumper damage.
Theft – All other
8190 Acadia Court – The Falls at Parkland
On January 21, the caller reported 34 copper rolls were removed from the construction site by an unknown person(s) between January 18 and January 21. The value of each copper roll is approximately $30.
10800 block of Moore Drive – Cascata at MiraLago
On January 24, deputies responded in reference to a delayed theft of building materials from two unsecured/unoccupied homes under construction.
Schools
1100 Holmberg Road – Westglades Middle School
On January 22, a report was taken by the school assistant principal of an incident in the school cafeteria, where a juvenile student committed a misdemeanor battery against another juvenile student. The parents of the victim stated they wanted to prosecute. The suspect student was issued a juvenile civil citation and sent home with the parents by the school principal.
1100 Holmberg Road – Westglades Middle School
On January 22, a report was taken that two juvenile male students were involved in a mutual physical altercation at dismissal on January 21.
