The Broward Sheriffs’ Office is investigating a rash of recent vehicle break-ins and auto crimes committed in Parkland, agency records show.
During a Jan. 24 car break-in on Northwest 60th Place in Parkland, someone stole $40 cash and three pairs of glasses from an unlocked vehicle, according to BSO crime summaries. The victim’s total estimated loss was $580.
The next evening, between three and four unknown suspects burglarized three unlocked vehicles on Northwest 88th Avenue between 2:45 a.m. and 3:15 a.m., deputies said.
They stole an Apple Watch 6 worth $600 from one of the cars, according to BSO.
Shortly after 4 a.m. that same morning, several unidentified culprits tried to burglarize vehicles by pulling on door handles on Northwest 99th Way in the Landings, starting with a victim’s Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon, deputies said.
Both vehicles were parked in a driveway and locked. Nothing was stolen from either.
The culprits also tried to burglarize a second victim’s unlocked Mercedes GLS, parked in a driveway on Northwest 61st Court, deputies said. Nothing was reported missing from the victim’s vehicle in that case, either.
