Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through July 5, 2021.
Burglary Conveyance
NW 112th Terrace
On July 1, a male witness reporting a Burglary Conveyance said he observed a male juvenile wearing a black hooded sweater and black backpack attempting to enter his black 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan by pulling on the door handle. Witness also stated that he observed the subject travel across the street and attempt to gain entry to two other vehicles, a gray 2018 Chevrolet Suburban and a gray 2020 Toyota Tundra, by pulling on the door handles. The witness stated the subject left the area traveling east. While conducting an area check, police observed a male juvenile wearing a black hooded sweater and black backpack traveling east on Parkland Reserve Blvd toward NW 110th Drive. The subject was detained and subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the district office.

Trails End
On July 1, a reporter alleged that someone vandalized the bathroom stall with graffiti. He advised that the victimized property does not wish to press charges but needs a report on file. Two digital photographs of the vandalism were uploaded into evidence.
Information
NW 126th Terrace
On June 29, a man told police his dog was bitten by a neighbor’s dog on June 25. His dog was treated on June 26, and he incurred a vet bill of $1583.02. He is currently trying to recover that amount from the owner of the other dog.
Kidnapping
On July 5, a victim of Kidnapping/False Imprisonment was reported in Parkland. A suspect was arrested.
Lost Property
NW 127th Way
On June 21, a woman reported that 2 pieces of her jewelry went missing. No forced entry was reported.
Missing Person
NW 62nd Terrace
On June 29, a missing female juvenile was reported. The male reporter advised she left the residence without his permission, and her whereabouts are currently unknown.
Retail Theft
W. Hillsboro Blvd.
On July 4, the reporter advised that three female subjects entered a business and concealed 23 bottles of liquor. The females were observed passing all points of purchase with the merchandise. Tot. Est. Loss: $135.
Arrest
Matalon, Scott Jay, 40, was arrested on charges of Kidnapping-Inflict Bodily Harm Or Terrorize Vict Or Other in Parkland on 07/05/2021.
