The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team fell one point short on Senior Night, losing 29-28 to Forest Hill High School on Thursday.

The Eagles recognized 14 seniors, including Johnny Debs, Anthony Diaz, Keegan Lake, Travis Willis, Juan Toro, Chase Pavlish, Ben Goldman, Matteo Swetsky, Isaiah Goodwin, Jack Brunham, Audrey Haltiwanger, Kelvin Robinson, Noah Guedes and Gonzalo Garcia.

After allowing a touchdown on the opening kickoff, MSD quickly tied it on a touchdown run by Pavlish. The Eagles then surrendered the next two touchdowns before Diaz broke free for a long touchdown, cutting the deficit to seven points.

Lake scored on the opening drive of the second half, and the Eagles took a 22-21 lead after recording a safety. However, Forest Hill responded with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to regain the lead. Despite a late touchdown from MSD on a long run from Diaz, the Eagles fell by one point to drop to 1-7 this season. Liam Haber also had a strong defensive performance, recording a forced fumble and an interception.

Next, the Eagles will face J.P. Taravella on Friday, October 23, at 6 p.m. The Trojans are 1-7 this season, with their lone victory coming against Northeast High School.
