The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team picked up its first win of the season and made it 12 straight victories over Coral Springs High School, cruising to a 52-2 win on Thursday night.

The Eagles came out flying as Chase Pavlish opened the scoring with a rushing touchdown. Audrey Haltiwanger, playing in her first football game, converted the extra point and finished the night with three successful point-after attempts.

Pavlish then connected with Liam Haber for a touchdown before the Eagles quickly stretched their lead to 20-0. Isaiah Goodwin blocked a punt, and Maxton Kendall scooped up the loose ball and returned it for a touchdown.

MSD added two more touchdowns in the first half, with Anthony Diaz scoring the first of his two long touchdowns in the game. Keegan Lake also found the end zone as the Eagles took a commanding lead into halftime.

Lake added another touchdown in the second half before Johnny Debs caught a touchdown pass from Pavlish. Diaz capped the scoring with his second touchdown in the final seconds as the Eagles improved to 1-1 on the season.

Next, MSD will face NSU University School on Thursday, September 10, at 6 p.m. The Sharks opened the season with a win over North Broward Prep but have since lost three straight games.
