The Marjory Stoneman Douglas wrestling program continued its dominance in Broward County, as the boys’ team captured another district championship while producing eight individual district champions overall.
The Eagles claimed first place for the fifth consecutive year, led by five individual champions: Santiago Caro, Jacob Balk, Joshua Lopez, Zach Glazer, and Keegan Lake. Lake earned his third straight district title, highlighting another strong performance for the program.
In addition to the individual winners, all 14 Douglas wrestlers qualified for regionals. Adrian Blanc, Caua Trindade, Hendrick Oliveira, Kackson Bendett, Jake Whitmore, Joe Tuso, Johnny Leiva, Luis Cardozo, Santiago Caro, and Zach Glazer were among those advancing to the next round of postseason competition.
The girls’ team also delivered an impressive showing, finishing second overall while producing three district champions. Ariana Blanc, Zeinab Mourad, and Samantha De Gance each captured first-place finishes, while Addison McMahon earned a runner-up finish. Lily Torres and Jeslee Dussan came in third, while Kaylee Barthel and Ariel Mancher placed fourth.
Next, the girls’ team will compete at regionals on February 21–22, followed by the boys’ regional competition on February 27–28.
