The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls lacrosse team is having a terrific season and recently celebrated a major milestone, as senior Chloe Resnik recorded her 200th career goal on Wednesday night against Archbishop McCarthy High School.
“Hitting 200 career goals felt so amazing. It was a milestone I never thought could happen,” Resnik said. “I’m incredibly proud and grateful for everyone who supported me and pushed me to be the best version of myself. I’m excited to see what else I can accomplish in the future.”
After making her debut on the varsity team as a freshman, Resnik quickly shined and reached the 100-goal plateau during her sophomore season. Heading into her senior year with 160 career goals, the Robert Morris University commit has continued to produce at a high level, scoring 39 goals through the first 10 games of the season.
Resnik scored three goals in her previous game, a 9-5 victory over The King’s Academy, before reaching the milestone against the Mavericks in a dominant 19-0 victory.
The Eagles improved to 8-3 this season and currently rank 37th in the state and 73rd in the country. MSD will have some time off before returning to action on March 23 against North Broward Prep at 5 p.m. The Eagles will then close the regular season with matchups against Community School of Naples and Miami Country Day School later in the week.
