The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between Aug. 18 and August 24, 2026.
Incidents
Driving With a Suspended License
A driver was arrested Aug. 18 near North University Drive and Holmberg Road after deputies said they saw a white Ram pickup run a red light. A records check showed the driver’s license was suspended and that he had three prior convictions for knowingly driving with a suspended license, according to BSO.
Credit Card Theft
A woman reported her Capital One Mastercard missing Aug. 19 after shopping at BJ’s Wholesale Club. She later discovered an unauthorized charge of $211.99 from BJ’s that was pending. The investigation was ongoing.
Eggs Thrown at Vehicle
Deputies investigated a criminal mischief incident Aug. 19 after an unknown person wearing a ski mask allegedly leaned out of the passenger window of an older-model white Chevrolet Impala and threw two eggs at a Chevrolet Traverse. The Impala was described as having dark-tinted windows.
Fight at BJ’s Involves Fire Extinguisher
Deputies responded to BJ’s Wholesale Club on Aug. 20 after a reported fight involving three older men. During the altercation, one man allegedly sprayed another with a fire extinguisher. All three had left before deputies arrived. No injuries or property damage were reported.
Cooking Fire
A resident experienced a cooking fire Aug. 21 and extinguished it with a fire extinguisher before authorities arrived. The resident had already contacted an insurance company, HVAC company and electrician to arrange repairs. No further law enforcement action was required.
Jury Duty Scam
A Parkland resident reported an attempted fraud in which a caller allegedly identified himself as a Broward Sheriff’s Office sergeant. According to BSO, the caller claimed the resident had an arrest warrant for contempt of court after failing to appear for jury duty and would be arrested unless money was paid. The incident occurred July 29 and was reported Aug. 22.
E-Bike Disturbance
Deputies responded to a disturbance involving children riding e-bikes on Aug. 22. Their parents were notified, and no further issues were reported.
Masked Juveniles Reported
A resident reported problems with juvenile neighbors Aug. 24, telling deputies the issues began after his dog attacked their pet ducks. According to BSO, juveniles had previously thrown eggs at the resident’s house. On Aug. 24, they were reportedly riding bicycles in front of the home while yelling and cursing, with their shirts covering their faces. Video surveillance footage was submitted as evidence.
Arrest
Charles Fabian Jubenville, 53, was arrested Aug. 18 near North University Drive and Holmberg Road on a felony charge of driving with a suspended or revoked license, third or subsequent violation.
